  1. I too am incredibly disappointed to have to read this journal online. Would love the hard copy back.
It is August 23rd and I have not heard anything from WDJ for a long time and no indication that the July/August edition is ready.

  2. Hi Greg,
I have finally successfully reached my online subscription. I wish we would get an email announcing that the newest edition is available. That would be a good trigger.
I understand the reasons for digital and am fine with it as I truly value the content.

  3. Where are the the July and August issues? Aren’t we supposed to receive an email when a new issue comes out? I did not expect this kind of service from WDJ. I renewed my subscription and I’m regretting it now. I’m doubting that canceling and getting my money back is possible either. I’ve been a subscriber for many years but if this is the way of the digital subscription, I’m done.

    • In the months of March, April, May and June, we announced – via email, postings on our site and the pages of our magazine – our switch to a digital only format. We came to this difficult decision after years of continued exorbitant cost increases, particularly postage.

The June issue is the final issue in print or PDF form. We are now publishing nutrition, training and care information for your dog on a weekly basis. In fact, we now produce more content than every before. Paid subscribers can access all of these articles, recommendations and advice on our website. And every Wednesday and Sunday an email is delivered notifying readers of what’s been uploaded to the site in recent days.

And the cost of a Whole Dog Journal subscription is the same as it was more than 25 years ago! And today, our value to dog owners has never been greater. We hope you continue to support our efforts.

      • Hi Greg,

Could you tell us what the emails on Wednesday and Sunday say in the Subject Line? I also subscribe to the free articles so I don’t know if what I’m getting are the free ones (which usually have 4 articles in them – some new, some past ones) or this is my paid subscription. Many thanks!

  4. I will add to all the other comments wanting to know where the July or July/August issue is. I also agree that the publisher should be answering our inquiries as we all have paid up subscriptions – mine doesn’t expire until May, 2027 and it looks like that was a huge waste of money. I don’t even get any of the emails that I used to receive with single articles. What is going on??

      • Not only am I not getting emails (at all) but I have prepaid through May ’27. I was okayish with digital only so long as there was going to be the option still to download a monthly journal. It appears we have all been mislead and cheated. After all these years, WDJ has become just another disappointment for canine welfare and care.

  5. I also want a paper copy of the whole dog ‼️I am not a fan of reading on line. I take my PAPER COPY to appointments to enjoy the wait . I will not renew my script in 2027.‼️‼️😫😫

  6. Ms. Kerns, I got the June issue in print and was very disappointed that the Whole Dog Journal is not going to be printed anymore. Where are the July and August issues that are supposed to be online? I am paid thru Feb 2027, what is going on. Why are none of our questions are being answered. At least let us know what the problem is.
