I rarely get online, only to delete old messages and maybe check in with my doctor! I don’t want to have to open it on my computer!
Good morning-
Today is July 8th- can you please let me know when I will be able to access the July issue?
Thank you
Sascha Rockefeller
In the months of March, April, May and June, we announced – via email, postings on our site and the pages of our magazine – our switch to a digital only format. We came to this difficult decision after years of continued exorbitant cost increases, particularly postage.
The June issue is the final issue in print or PDF form. We are now publishing nutrition, training and care information for your dog on a weekly basis. In fact, we now produce more content than every before. Paid subscribers can access all of these articles, recommendations and advice on our website. And every Wednesday and Sunday an email is delivered notifying readers of what’s been uploaded to the site in recent days.
And the cost of a Whole Dog Journal subscription is the same as it was more than 25 years ago! And today, our value to dog owners has never been greater. We hope you continue to support our efforts.
So does this mean there is no longer a monthly issue. June 2025 was the last?

when we were told you were going digital you definitely stated we could go online and get the monthly issues on pdf-that was a blatant lie.
the last one was June 2025 and none since.
As a veterinarian I recommended your journal for over 20 years. I probably won’t anymore and I am debating cancelling my own subscription. Keep your word and put out a monthly issue that us subscribers can download.

I never got that message. Its January 2026 now and I was wondering why I have never heard from you.
Greg, this is news to me..this seemingly daily barrage is annoying. I really don’t like it…can’t you just accumulate the articles and publish monthly?
I enjoyed reading the print version, but I understand about no paper copy. The amount of content online vs the paper copy doesn’t come even close. I hope the previous year’s archives continue to be available to subscribers.
In case this helps folks-I’ve found clearing your browser history (aka browser cache), exiting the browser, reopening the browser then logging back into the site fixes access issues.
I finally found the ability to download the current issue, however I don’t like being tied to my computer so I now can’t read where and when I want. Also, the regular emails I receive on specific topics are of no value as none of the links to this added information work. Very frustrating.
I’m willing to give the new digital only format a try, but you’ve gotta streamline your online access issues! It should be a transparent and simple process! Please fix this ASAP!
I am suddenly not able to read the extra daily short articles on line. I am paid up till 2027. What is the problem??
Not overly happy with “digital only” but such is life. HOWEVER!! Columns on a printed version make for easier reading. Having to scroll down and up and down and up to read columns on a PDF is extremely annoying! Please consider HOW folks are reading this now. Fancy layout looks good in print, not so great online.
I too am in agreement with these folks. I liked taking the paper copy with me to appointments where I knew I’d have to wait and
could read my Journal. I would be willing to pay more for a paper copy!
I doubt I will read the digital copy much. Easier to read paper copy when I had time.
I agree with what several others have said – I am extremely dissappointed in the discontinuation of the printed copy of Whole Dog Journal. I enjoyed the flexibility of reading the printed version wherever I went without it being tied to my computer. I have also found that just recently every article I read comes with multiple pop-up ads. These are extremely annoying and there were never pop-up ads before. Is this the price you have to pay for digital? I have loved WDJ for the past 20+ years but now I am very unhappy with the digital decision. Bring back the hard copy!!
